Today we transferred the title and got Donna a new tag. It’s pretty amazing what a VIN number tells you about a car. In addition to being the unique identifier for the car (like a car social security number,) it also carries most of the important info about what the car is, when it was made and how it was configured. From the tag on the Donna’s driver door we know a lot about how Donna started her life.
We also started ordering parts for the front suspension and steering. We are planning to rebuild the original power assisted steering (actually sending it to Randy at Precision Products to rebuild for us.) We will replace the factory front drum brakes with 4 Piston K/H style disc brakes, with SSBC components like would have been on a 67 Shelby. The parts will come from Dan and Chockostang. Finally, we will rebuild or replace all the suspension and steering components, and upgrade bushings to prothane.
