There’s a famous quote by author Antoine de Saint-Exupéry that says “Perfection is achieved when there is nothing left to take away.”
Well, maybe a few things left, but basically Donna is stripped bare. Today we got the heater box and blower assembly out, removed the remaining brake and fuel lines and took out the accelerator, brake and parking brake pedals and assemblies.
So what is left? The parking brake cable – because we can’t figure out how to get the very parge and long bushing out where it goes through the floor. The front bumper and some of the front clip items – because she was hit (or hit something) on the drivers side which pushed things back and up and we want the body guys to see the parts before they are removed. All the glass – because we don’t know how to take it out and we aren’t going to put it back in either.
We are ready for body work and paint. Once we removed the carpet and sound and heat insulation fro the firewall we were able to see we have some serious rust issues with the drivers floor and several other places. Donna is going to need some tender loving care from a knowledgable body person.
