Today was an important day for Donna. She finally moved to the shop of the guy who will be doing the body work and paint.
She left her space in the garage…
and got loaded into an enclosed trailer for the trek to Piedmont…
Once she was safely loaded and tied down, we drove out to Piedmont Oklahoma to deliver her to George who will be doing the body work and then paint.
Now that she is safely at George’s, he can get the dry-strip people to come and media blast her. Once she is clean of paint, body filler and rust we can see what will need to be done. George thinks it will be September before he will be done with her. That seems like a long time, but George is retired and this is not a job, it is a passion. I am sure we will be getting art as opposed to “work” from him.
Meanwhile, we have plenty to do getting all the other parts and systems cleaned, recoated, rebuilt or replaced. Out goal will be to have everything ready to bolt back on once Donna comes home.
